Many people suffer from oppressive weather conditions during the day. At a temperature of 28˚C and a humidity of 80%, we feel a lot less efficient and cannot even think about sleep. It is therefore astonishing that many people tolerate not quite as extreme but very similar conditions in their bedroom.
Every person loses an average of 1 litre or more of perspiration during the night. The resulting build-up of humidity in the bedroom needs to be reduced, as the humidity should not exceed 40 - 60 %. Opening windows and thoroughly airing the room in the morning and at night generally solves the problem.
Every bedroom should be equipped with a hygrometer and a thermometer. Even if the bedroom is kept quite cool, the humidity needs to get out, otherwise there is a risk of build-up of mould.
